
Tom is an entrepreneur and founded four companies including the consulting firm Insight Sourcing (sold to Accenture in 2024) and procuretech firm SpendHQ. He is currently Chairman of the board of SpendHQ and its largest shareholder. See Our Story for more details.
Tom founded the nonprofit Witness to War Foundation in 2001 and is on the board of trustees for the Army War College Foundation. He is a member of CEO-peer organization YPO (Young Presidents Organization). In 2023-2024, he was the Chapter Chair of the 2nd largest YPO chapter in the world with over 500 CEO members across seven southern states.
Tom is originally from Charlotte, NC. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Military History and from Emory University with an MBA. Tom lives in Atlanta with his wife. They have four children and a dog named Tango.

Anthony is an accomplished Chief Financial Officer and licensed Certified Public Accountant, with over 34 years of experience driving financial strategy and operational excellence. In addition to his executive role, he serves on the Leadership Council for the Georgia Society of CPAs, contributing his expertise to advance the accounting profession. Anthony has successfully led various organizations through periods of growth and transformation. His leadership style is collaborative and results-oriented, fostering innovation while maintaining fiscal discipline.
Originally from Blue Ridge, GA, Anthony’s southern roots have shaped his values of hard work and integrity. He attended the University of South Carolina where he earned a degree in Business Administration specializing in Accounting. Outside of the office, he is passionate about spending time with his family. Anthony lives in Atlanta with his wife and dog, Oliver. They have two beautiful daughters and one very spoiled Grandson.

John began his career at Insight Sourcing Group with a dedication to excellence and innovation, working directly with a number of fortune-500 clients. John then transitioned to Atticus Franchise Group, a private equity firm focused on franchising, where he led strategy and operations as well as business development and M&A for a number of portfolio companies. Most recently, John started and built a residential and commercial cleaning business, Atlanta Cleaning Pros.
John is originally from Atlanta, GA and graduated from the University of North Carolina with a major in Peace, War, and Defense, along with minors in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School and PPE (Politics, Philosophy, and Economics) in a joint program with Duke. When John is not working, he enjoys golfing, skiing, and traveling. He is also active in the community as a basketball coach at NYO and a Junior Board Member for Cristo Rey Atlanta.

Outside the office, Taylor is an adventure enthusiast and thrives on the challenge of long-distance races and pushing her limits on rugged mountain trails and grueling courses.
Taylor is a true Georgia peach, reflecting the warmth and energy of her hometown. Taylor holds a degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Advertising from Georgia College & State University. She resides in Atlanta with her husband and their three dogs…and four cats.

Emily, an Atlanta native, is a 2006 graduate of The University of Tennessee, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Her deep appreciation for Veterans’ stories stems from her grandfather, Tank Commander Andy Carpenter, a WWII and Korean War veteran featured on this site.
She began her work with the Foundation in 2006, initially assisting with interviews and website content selection. Over time, she transitioned into the role of Director, where she now oversees daily operations, including partnership development, media relations, website management, and veteran interviews.
Emily lives in Atlanta with her husband and two children, remaining dedicated to preserving and sharing the stories of those who served.

Martin Madert is a graduate of Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s in History and Film and Video. He has spent over 10 years conducting interviews with veterans from every conflict from WWII through the Global War on Terror. To date, he’s been a part of over 2,500 interviews that helped every veteran capture their story for future generations.
